Tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Nutrition Counseling and/or Nutrition Informatics specialty faculty position in a vibrant and growing nutrition and food studies department serving diverse students and communities. Appointment includes teaching a range of undergraduate and graduate courses including nutrition education, counseling, advanced counseling for diverse populations, nutrition informatics, and other dietetics courses (e.g., nutrition professional seminar, applied community nutrition, applied nutrition in the lifecycle etc.) for prospective nutrition and food science professionals in the department. We are seeking a candidate who has scholarship in an area related to nutrition education, behavioral counseling, and informatics (e.g., telehealth) etc.; demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively in and with socially, culturally, and economically diverse communities; has a commitment to education for social justice, democratic practice, and critical thinking; and/or displays interest in addressing issues of diversity in research, teaching, and curriculum development. Appointment includes research, teaching, and contribution to scholarly and leadership endeavors. Faculty members are expected to be active scholars; develop a significant body of refereed publications; advise students; engage in curriculum development; contribute to accreditation processes; and participate in department, college, and university committees.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Earned doctorate in Nutrition or related field.
Well-defined research agenda, evidence of scholarly activities with a focus on the areas related to nutrition and dietetics.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching, and demonstrated commitment to student and faculty diversity, equity, and justice.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Earned Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential and maintained currency; Practice experience as a nutritionist or an RDN in clinical/community settings; or teaching experience in higher education
