The Service Leader Clinical Nutrition plays a dynamic role in advancing the Methodist Health System’s mission, overseeing a talented team of clinical nutrition professionals across multiple hospitals. From chief dietitians to dietetic students, they lead the charge in program development, staff training, and educational growth. They also create innovative policies, collaborate with medical teams, and ensure that every patient receives top-notch nutritional care. Location: Methodist Hospital Address: 8303 Dodge St. - Omaha, NE
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:30am to 4pm
Responsibilities: Performs management duties, such as hiring, training, coaching, counseling, mentoring, evaluations, corrective action, and terminations to ensure competent staff within the Food and Nutrition Service department.
Conducts regular staff meetings and rounding to ensure timely information sharing and employee satisfaction.
Retains and develops staff through team building, professionalism, and supporting professional growth via certifications or degrees.
Accurately documents payroll, time, and attendance variances to ensure timely and correct payroll completion.
Oversees staff schedules, monitors overtime, and adjusts staffing to ensure work coverage and productivity.
Ensures staff adherence to departmental policies and procedures, providing excellent patient service, and overseeing dietitians, technicians, and students.
Develops standardized clinical nutrition operations across the health system and ensures compliance with regulatory agencies.
Coordinates training for staff, participates in interdisciplinary activities, and provides medical nutrition therapy as needed.

Education
Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Nutrition and Dietetics or institutional management.
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Nutrition or Dietetics required.
Experience
3 years previous supervisory experience required, preferably as a Clinical Nutrition Manager.
5 years previous clinical experience with patients throughout the aging continuum required.
Experience in community and large teaching hospital environments preferred.
One year experience in a multifacility system preferred.
License/Certifications
Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) by Commission on Dietetic Registration required.
Licensed Medical Nutrition Therapist (LMNT) in the State of Nebraska required at assigned facilities.
Licensed Dietitian (LD) in the State of Iowa required at assigned facilities.
Valid and current driver's license required.
All required licenses and registration must be obtained or transferred within 60 days of hire.
Advanced specialty certification in nutrition (Nutrition Support, Pediatric, Renal, Oncology, Gerontological) as certified by the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition or the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is preferred.
Board Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) preferred.
Board Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition (CSP) or Board Certified Specialist in Pediatric Critical Care Nutrition (CSPCC) preferred.
Board Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition (CSR) preferred.
Board Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition (CSO) preferred.
Board Certified Specialist in Gerontological Nutrition (CSG) preferred.
Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and/or American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition membership preferred.
