North Central College is hiring in our Department of Health Sciences in the School of Education and Health Sciences. We invite applications for a passionate, collaborative, and energetic open-rank visiting faculty member to serve as the Founding Program Director for developing Nutrition and Dietetics graduate degree under the ACEND FUTURE model beginning August 1, 2022. Under the direction of the chair of the Department of Health Sciences, the successful candidate will coordinate our efforts in seeking accreditation for an innovative and interprofessional Master’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics under the FUTURE Model standards. Program director responsibilities include didactic and experiential curriculum development, program policies development, prepare and maintain accreditation materials, and help develop robust supervised learning partnerships on and off-campus. This individual will teach within the program and other areas within the School of Education and Health Sciences as appropriate and coordinate supervised experiential learning activities for the graduate program.

Requirements for this position include: Ph.D. in Food and Nutrition from an accredited institution, or a closely related degree; Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD) credential; Three years of professional experience; Membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics; Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills.
Preferred requirements include 3-5 years experience teaching at the graduate or undergraduate level; Experience with experiential learning and curriculum development; and Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Community or public health nutrition, food service management, sports nutrition, geriatric nutrition, food insecurity and social determinants of health. Applicants must demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students, and ongoing scholarship.
