The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Saint Louis University, St. Louis, MO, seeks an Assistant Professor with expertise in Clinical Nutrition. This position will be a nine-month, non-tenure track appointment with an anticipated start date of August, 17 2022. The Department seeks individuals who will contribute positively to the Department, College, University, and Saint Louis through their vision and passion for the profession. Given the rich agricultural and healthcare connections of the region paired with the unique nutrition and culinary synergies of the department, a multitude of opportunities exist and are available for exploration.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach food and nutrition undergraduate and graduate courses primarily in clinical nutrition and pediatric nutrition, provide research opportunities and guide graduate students’ research, and participate in Department, College, and/or University service as well as professional development activities.
Position Requirements
- Earned doctoral degree (e.g. PhD, EdD, DCN) in Nutrition, Food Science or closely related field
- Registered dietitian credential and licensure (RD, LD)
- Evidence of ability to teach effectively at the university level
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to diversity and inclusion
- Relevant professional experience in clinical nutrition and medical nutrition therapy, especially with the pediatric population
- Experience teaching and/or precepting in dietetics programs
Department of Nutrition and Dietetics
The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics is housed in the Doisy College of Health Sciences on the University’s urban medical center campus. It has accredited undergraduate and graduate (MS/Dietetic Internship) degree programs in dietetics, and a certificate program. Optional tracks are available within the degree programs, including culinary arts, pre-medicine, or pre-physician assistant training at the undergraduate level and medical nutrition therapy, public health nutrition, nutrition and physical performance, and pediatric nutrition at the graduate level. The department currently employs 8 full-time faculty members.

Covid 19/Booster Vaccination Requirement:
Saint Louis University requires COVID-19 vaccinations and a booster dose for all students, staff, and faculty who are physically present on our St. Louis campuses. As a prospective and/or a new employee at Saint Louis University, you will be/are required to comply with the University’s vaccination protocol. Proof of full vaccination is required before the start of employment in order to work at Saint Louis University. If you are not vaccinated, you are required to begin the vaccination process at the time of your first day of employment and submit proof of full vaccination within 30 days of your start date.
