The Department of Health Professions in the College of Health and Behavioral Studies at James Madison University invites applications for two (2) tenure-track positions in the Dietetics program at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2020. The Dietetics program, accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics, is one of five programs within the Department of Health Professions. The faculty will work collaboratively with faculty from Dietetics, Athletic Training, Health Services Administration, Occupational Therapy, and Physician Assistant Studies programs within the department as well as with other departments within the College. Preference will be given to candidates specializing in clinical nutrition or food science. The Dietetics program has laboratory space dedicated to quantity food production and small-scale food preparation education, objective product testing, sensory evaluation, and health and nutrition assessment. The successful candidate will join a strong and engaged faculty committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion at one of the nation’s outstanding public universities.
The successful candidates will: - Teach undergraduate courses in an ACEND-accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics - Teach graduate courses in the MS program in Nutrition and Physical Activity - Assist in program development, including developing an ACEND-accredited Future Education Model Graduate Program - Participate in scholarship and community-based outreach and training programs - Advise undergraduate and graduate students - Supervise graduate student research - Participate in scholarly activity and service at the departmental, college, and university levels - Demonstrate a commitment toward building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment
