The Rutgers School of Health Professions (SHP) Department of Clinical and Preventive Nutrition Sciences is inviting applications for a part-time professional track faculty position. SHP is one of eight schools that are part of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, the premier health sciences institution in New Jersey. Rutgers is an internationally ranked and recognized University that is a member of the prestigious AAU and the Big Ten conference. The Department of Clinical and Preventive Nutrition Sciences is inviting applications for a part- time (24/hours week) faculty position supervising students in the hospital setting.
The Department houses a Coordinated Program in Dietetics, M.S. in Clinical Nutrition for registered dietitian nutritionists only, the nation’s first Doctor of Clinical Nutrition, and the first accredited entry-level M.S. in Clinical Nutrition (ELMSCN) based on the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) future education model. This entry level M.S. in Clinical Nutrition opened in fall 2019 based on the ACEND future education model, preparing students with the education and training to become registered dietitians nutritionists. This forward-thinking program combines distance-based courses with in-person learning and clinical clerkship.
Job responsibilities include clinical supervision of ELMSCN students during their clerkship phases in our New Jersey based affiliated health care facilities. Responsibilites include assigning patients, mentoring and overseeing students in their day to day care, and evaluating practice and reviewing clerkship evaluations with students as scheduled and reviewing and co-sign student notes (normally required by the site).
Minimum Education and Experience:
We are seeking an individual with a master's degree in nutrition, clinical experience, and the RDN credential. The successful candidate will have experience in mentoring students in clinical settings, preferable in entry-level dietetics and nutrition. This position is at the instructor or assistant-professor level with a start date of January 2020.
