This role will have a strong focus on streamlining production for the department, for example; preparing and producing homemade soups for both patient and retail operations. This role requires a strong attention to detail to follow recipes accurately and make suggestions to update recipes in the food service software as needed.The candidate for this position will need to be flexible and able to jump into different positions according to operational needs.RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversees preparation of all patient and retail daily menu optionsSupervises and trains other Cooks and Food Service WorkersAssists with making recommendations on adjustments to par stock levels based on anticipated patient volumes.Assists with inventory management, storage and utilization of inventory (i.e. leftover management, products, and rotation of inventory.Oversees the cleaning of the kitchen and equipment ensuring standards of sanitation and safety are met.Oversees and monitors food items to assure safe temperature control and safe handling and storing techniques.Develops new menu items for patient and retail operationsOrients new staff to kitchen operations and equipment.Preforms all work of a CookPreforms other duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Possession of, or acquisition of a Washington State Food Worker card within two weeks of employment AND one year of experience as Cook including experience leading staff; or equivalent education/experience.
