Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition (FSHN) seeks applicants for a Clinical Assistant Professor position. The position will be 75% instruction, 20% research and 5% service. The incumbent will have primary responsibility for teaching undergraduate nutrition courses, and contribute to courses for the online Master of Professional Practice in Dietetics (MPP-D) graduate program. The incumbent will be expected to develop course content, and create course materials including lectures, assignments and exams in accordance with ISU and dietetic accreditation outcome standards. The research component will allow the incumbent to develop and explore topics of interest related to human health and well-being. Service to the department and profession is expected. Additionally, it is expected that candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusion.
Required Education and Experience:
Doctoral degree in human nutritional sciences or related field at the time of hire
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with a current license as a Registered Dietitian (RD) in Iowa or be able to obtain an Iowa license upon hire
Preferred Education and Experience:
Experience in instructional pedagogy
Experience in curriculum development
Work experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)
Iowa Dietitian License on or before the first day of employment
