his posting is for an individual with advanced training and previous experience in the field of nutrition and dietetics. The person must be a registered dietitian with previous experience in counseling, preferably among those who are interested in weight management.
The person will deliver 90-minute, one-on-one behavioral intervention sessions for weight loss in a funded study that targets weight loss and/or prevention of weight regain and reduction in cardiovascular risk profile. The study entails the use of technology, such as smartphones for self-monitoring and trackers for assessment of physical activity. Some evening or Saturday work may be required to accommodate the schedule of study participants outside of normal work hours.
Applicants should have a strong interest in human subject research and a good knowledge of cognitive-behavioral interventions for weight loss treatment. Computer experience is required. The incumbent will deliver the baseline 90-minute one-on-one intervention and as time permits, assist with overseeing the adherence of study participants to the intervention protocol and delivery of feedback messages that are the core of the intervention
Registered Dietitian (RD) credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Licensed Dietitian-Nutritionist (LDN) in the state of Pennsylvania within 30 days of start date. Registered Dietitian, has completed a dietetic internship and training in patient counseling. Two or more years of experience working in clinical trials using cognitive-behavioral interventions to achieve behavioral changes in lifestyle and weight. This experience needs to use nutrition science as part of the weight loss intervention. RD credential, LDN license in the state of Pennsylvania.
