The Department of Food Science and Nutrition, University of Minnesota, seeks an Assistant Professor in Nutrition. This position will be a nine-month, tenure-track appointment involving 50% research and 50% teaching.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop a strong extramurally funded research program that investigates the relationship between diet and human health.
Develop collaborations with other investigators within the Department, the College, and the University, such as the Academic Health Center or the School of Public Health
Teaching an equivalent of two (2) courses per year at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
Advising undergraduate, M.S., and Ph.D. students.

Earned doctorate by start date, with training and experience in nutrition
Evidence of strong research skills
Published research in peer-reviewed scholarly journals
Strong communication skills
Registered Dietitian (RD, RDN) with professional experience
Post-doctoral research or relevant professional or industry experience
Evidence of ability to work independently and in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members
Experience writing or managing grants;
The potential for effective classroom teaching and acquisition of extramural funding
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.
