Assures compliance of all physical aspects of radiation producing equipment and radioactive materials including: Acceptance testing, commissioning, and performance specifications.
Calibration of radiotherapy machines, radioactive isotopes, and radiation measurement equipment..
Maintains all Radioactive Materials Licenses and machine registrations
Develops and supervises the of a quality assurance program for all treatment modalities, simulation procedures, and treatment planning computer systems to assure that patients receive prescribed doses, within acceptable degrees of accuracy.
Consults with radiation oncologists on the physical and radiobiological aspects of patients’ treatments and the development of treatment plans.
Oversees the program development (hardware, software, or procedural) to improve the delivery of radiation treatments for better patient outcomes.
Provides in-service education for the radiation oncology staff

Certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) in Therapeutic Radiological Physics or equivalent.
Hold (or obtain) a current Florida Therapeutic Radiological Physics license
3 plus years of clinical (LDR, HDR, Simulation, IMRT, Linear Accelerator) experience
Effective communication skills, good judgment and problem solving skills
