Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer within the Partnerships team, this position will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of PHA partners in the food and nutrition space. Additionally, this position will serve as a leader within the organization, managing staff, representing PHA externally and contributing to the development of PHA’s strategic direction and long-term vision.
Specifically, the position will:
Lead PHA’s food and nutrition work identifying and negotiating new partnerships with relevant companies and organizations that have the potential to make lasting, systemic changes to America's food supply.
Provide exceptional day-to-day management of assigned partner portfolio, including supporting partners through the annual verification and reporting process, providing technical assistance as needed for commitment implementation, and fostering a positive partner experience.
Expand and deepen partnerships through engagement in PHA activities, including raising revenue to help keep our organization financially sustainable.
Serve as an in-house expert on food and nutrition, contributing to the development of food and nutrition-related content for PHA partnerships and communications channels.
Hold strong relationships within the public health, non-profit and business communities.
Represent PHA at national meetings, in expert forums, in the media and other key venues through speaking engagements and networking.
Think of and implement big, strategic ideas that will help PHA grow and thrive.
Supervise and mentor Partnership Manager and contribute to fostering a cross-functional and collaborative work environment.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education
At least 10 years of experience in business, marketing, non-profit management or a related field. Active Registered Dietitian credential required.
Proven knowledge of and experience with food and nutrition related issues in the context of childhood obesity.
Demonstrated skill and comfort in proactively building and maintaining relationships within both the business and public health communities.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management, a board of directors and staff.
Excellent writing and presentation skills.
Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to multi-task and deliver quality work on time.
Strong analytic and critical reasoning skills.
Stature, gravitas, and confidence to gain the credibility and respect within and outside the organization.
Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker.
