Beacon Children’s Hospital Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Program, a Beacon Medical Group practice, is seeking a 3rd BC/BE Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist to join our current practice of 2 full-time, board certified pediatric hematologists/oncologists. The program provides inpatient and outpatient care to 35-40 active pediatric oncology patients, 75-80 children with sickle cell disease, a large population of pediatric cancer survivors and sees more than 100 benign hematology referrals for consultation each year. The position will involve full time clinical care in both the outpatient and inpatient setting as well as equal share in overnight/weekend call.
Beacon Children's Hospital is the region's only designated children's hospital and cares for children with a wide variety of medical and surgical diagnoses from more than 20 referral hospitals throughout Southwestern Michigan and Northern Indiana. Our world-class team includes a complement of other pediatric subspecialties; those include neurology, behavioral/developmental pediatrics, child and adolescent psychiatry, pulmonology, infectious disease, gastroenterology and pediatric neurosurgery; as well as child life specialists, pediatric diabetic educators, pediatric dietitians and social workers.
During 2017, we opened a new children’s hospital - a $46 million effort 109 bed facility with 101,530 square feet, which is crucial to serving thousands of children and their families in a 22-county region.
