The Manager Clinical Nutrition-Inpatient is responsible for the coordination and management of those who provide medical nutrition therapy and education to inpatients. He/she serves as a resource person for Clinical Dietitians and Dietetic Technicians. Manager plans and adheres to the annual budget. The Manager supervises and develops, and coordinates efforts of inpatient clinical dietitians within Nutrition Services. Works with Dietitians to develop and implement new services/programs as appropriate. Serves as the Clinical liaison with the appropriate medical staff. Manages the clinical dietitians and the dietetic technicians under their license to practice dietetics in the State of Ohio. The Manager Clinical Nutrition-Inpatient is responsible for the development and maintenance of an area of expertise while communicating to physicians and other members of the health team information relating to current scientific nutrition knowledge and practice as well as acting as a nutrition resource and educator to the medical staff, administration, employees, students, patients, and the community. Practices in compliance with the American Dietetic Association Code of Ethics.
This position complies with established policies, procedures, and standards regarding quality, customer satisfaction, positive work environment, and financial stewardship as established by Premier Health Partners.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required in Nutrition, Dietetics or related field. A Master of Science degree in Nutrition, Nutritional Biochemistry or equivalent is preferred.
Registration: Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Verification of registration documented annually.
Licensure: Current Ohio Licensure with Ohio Board of Dietetics. Verification of licensure documented annually.
Certification: Specialty certification is encouraged but not required.
Experience: Five years clinical experience as a dietitian in an acute care setting
Skills/Other: Must possess effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills as well as technical knowledge in clinical nutrition and education. Fundamental computer skills required. Must possess the ability to speak, read, write and comprehend in English and perform complex mathematical calculations. Counseling and teaching skills required to meet the needs of the population served.
