The Rutgers School of Health Professions (SHP) Department of Clinical and Preventive Nutrition Sciences is inviting applications for a full-time faculty position. SHP is one of eight schools that are part of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, the premier health sciences institution in New Jersey. Rutgers is an internationally ranked University that is a member of the prestigious AAU and the Big Ten conference.
The Department houses a Coordinated Program in Dietetics, Dietetic Internship, M.S. in Clinical Nutrition for Registered Dietitian Nutritionists, the nation's first Doctorate of Clinical Nutrition, and, this year we opened the first accredited entry level M.S. in Clinical Nutrition based on the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics future education model. This forward-thinking program combines distance-based courses with in-person learning and clinical clerkships; graduates will be eligible to take the R.D. exam. All programs are well recognized for their innovation in nutrition and dietetics education, scholarship and research. The department has a growing research portfolio with faculty involved in global scholarship and education.
Job responsibilities include teaching graduate nutrition courses in our entry and advanced level dietetics and nutrition hybrid and online courses, student advisement and mentoring of research projects. The individual will collaborate and teach with other programs in the department, school, and university. All faculty are responsible for research and scholarship.
Minimum Education and Experience:
We are seeking a faculty member with a minimum of a doctoral degree in nutrition, clinical experience; and the RDN credential. The successful candidate will have experience in teaching graduate nutrition courses using both in-person and online formats. This position is at the instructor or assistant-professor level.
